Alfred "Jimmy" Ray Burchette, age 75, 774 Antioch Road. Sparta; passed away Monday, September 27th, 2021 at Alleghany Health in Sparta.
Jimmy was born May 9th, 1946 in Alleghany County to the late Talmadge Ray and Cleo Roten Burchette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Infant James Michael Burchette and Tim Burchette; an infant sister, Ruby Burchette. He worked for Dr. Grabow Pipes for 28 years, loved to Crappy fish, Nascar Racing and playing softball.
Survivors include a son, Jamie Burchette and wife Kim of Sparta; six grandchildren: Matthew Parsons and wife Danielle of Independence, VA., Nikki Burchette of Hillsville, VA., Garrett Burchette of Sparta, T.J. Burchette of Hillsville, VA., Levi Burchette of the home, Heather Smith of Sparta; five brothers: Tommy Burchette and wife Linda of Mooresville, Russell Burchette and wife Wanda of Ennice, Robert Burchette and wife Cathy of Murrells Inlet, SC., James Burchette and special friend, Kim Russ of Statesville, Joe Burchette and wife Robin of Troutman; two sisters: Nancy McGraw and husband Jimmie of Statesville, Ruth Sellitto and husband Mike of Salisbury; a special friend, Roger Todd of Sparta; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Jimmy will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Randy Lovelace and Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
