Jeff Edwards Obituary
Jeffery "Jeff" Bryan Edwards, age 64, of Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, April 10th, 2025 at his residence.
Jeff was born May 19th, 1960 in Thomasville, NC to Monra Wagoner Edwards and to the late Joe Bill Edwards.
Jeff was a member of the US Army with a rank of SP4. He was honored with the Army Service Ribbon, the Air Assault Badge, and the Commander's Orderly Letter of Commendation.
Jeff was a quiet, spiritual man with an easy smile. He was a family man and loved spending time with them. He often voiced how proud he was of his two sons. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Katelyn. Jeff enjoyed the camaraderie of his brothers and spent many wonderful times with them. Jeff and his cousin, Bob Wagoner enjoyed watching NASCAR and even canned their "secret recipe" for salsa. Jeff loved nature and was known to even dodge wooly worms on the road while driving. He loved the New River and made memories with his family canoeing and camping it. Jeff loved music and did not hesitate to turn up the volume. He enjoyed watching westerns. Jeff loved his mountain community and often praised his late grandfather, Folger Wagoner for the land that he settled on here. Jeff was loved deeply by his family and will truly be missed and are thankful that God's love embraces Jeff in his heavenly home.
Survivors include his mother, Monra Edwards of Sparta; two sons: Bryan Edwards of Sparta, Dylan Edwards and husband Stephen Yu of Huntersville, NC; granddaughter, Katelyn Edwards of Sparta; three brothers: Mike Edwards, Joe Edwards and wife Melia of Sparta, Chris Edwards of Sparta; two sisters: Carollyn Pruitt and husband Harold of Sparta, Robin Johnson of Sparta; a special cousin, Bob Wagoner of Sparta; canine companion, Bullet; many extended family and friends also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jeff will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at Glade Creek Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Hugh Miller Officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
