Jean (Hines) Blevins

Jean Hines Blevins, age 87, of Patrick Springs, VA and formerly of Alleghany County; passed away Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at her home.
Jean was born February 19, 1934 in Alleghany County to the late Emmit and Ethel Faye Nelson Hines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robyn Blevins; three brothers: Archie, Bobby and Jimmy Hines; a sister, Maxine Billings.

Jean was a member of the Bruce Wayne Osborne Post 7034, Women's Auxiliary for several years. She was proud to be a part of the Senior Companion Program for the Alleghany Senior Center for 20 years.

Survivors include two daughters: Sherry Cowan and husband Ron of the home, Pamela Gorham of Martinsville, VA; a son, Michael Blevins and wife Valerie of Patrick Springs, VA; five grandchildren: Brad Halsey, Michael Gorham, Kyle Gorham, Travis Gorham and Katelyn Gorham; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Jean will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 9th, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Charlie Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
