James Romie Wagoner, age 76, of Laurel Springs, NC; passed away Sunday, December 31st, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC.
James was born February 21st, 1947 in Ashe County, NC to the late Romie and Clarice Wyatt Wagoner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Dixon and Louellen Wagoner.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Key and husband Marty of Laurel Springs; two grandchildren: Meagan Key and companion Corey Hodge of the home, Austin Key and companion Hannah Wolford of Laurel Springs; two great-grandchildren: Bryhlee Jane Key and Zaylah Grace Key both of Laurel Springs; two nephews also survive.
Services to honor the life of James will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4th, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. A private interment for family only will follow at Cranberry Cemetery in Laurel Springs with military rites conducted by the Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post# 7034 of Sparta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SECU House of Winston-Salem, 1970 Baldwin Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
