Jackie Reece Henson

Jackie Reece Henson, age 70, of Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Jackie was born September 18th, 1953 in Alleghany County, NC to the late Bobby Jack Henson and Bonnie McCann Henson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gene Brown. Jackie was the manager of Smith Auto Parts for many years. He was a very hard working man. Jackie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Whitehead Union Baptist Church and was always willing to help others.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sharon Johnson Henson of the home; mother, Bonnie Henson; a son, Stevie Henson; a daughter, Michelle Coleman and husband Michael; four grandchildren: Alexa Henson, Kaiden Henson, Daniel Coleman, Avery Coleman; two sisters: Peggy Brown, Connie Brown and husband Dennis; a brother, Mark Henson and wife Malisha; a brother-in-law, Chris Johnson and wife Tammy; a special friend, Greg Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Jackie will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 28th, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Gary West, Pastor Doug Combs and Elder Dan Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
