Irene (Suitt) Billings

Lois Irene Billings, age 82, of Sparta; passed away Sunday, November 13th, 2022 at Waddell Nursing in Galax, VA.

Irene was born February 26th, 1940 in Grayson County, VA to the late Carl and Nannie Taylor Suitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norman Billings; three brothers: Robert, Everette, and Ray Suitt; a sister, Lissie Wood.

Irene loved her family, cooking, listening to gospel music, doing for others and reading her bible. For the last two years, she attended God's Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children: Teresa Crawford of Wilkesboro, Shelia Breetz and companion Lewis Langley of Long Boat Key, FL, Chuck Billings and wife Amanda of Sparta; Nicole Billings and companion Josh Baldwin of Elkin; seven grandchildren: Jordan Nelson and husband Michael of Nashville, TN, Ryan Billings and wife Daisy Grace of Huntington Beach, CA, Bailey Breetz and companion Ryan Foran of Maui, Hawaii, Kenzie Breetz of Nashville, TN, Trey Breetz and companion Nicole Glaser of Chattanooga, TN, Madelynn Presnell of Thomasville, Sebastian Presnell of High Point; a great-grandson, Kahlill Kyle of Thomasville; two brothers: Dale Suitt of Burlington, J.C. Suitt of Maryland; two sisters: Patty Euliss of Burlington, Louise Warden of Maryland; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Irene will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 19th, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Homer Murdock and Brother Ed Hall officiating. Interment will follow at South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Chuck and Amanda Billings, 16 Wolf Branch Road, Sparta, NC 28675.
