Inez Marie Reeves

Inez Marie Reeves, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 25th, 2026 at her residence in Sparta, NC.

Inez was born March 20th, 1943 in Piney Creek, NC to the late Sam and Zola McMeans Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands: Martin Reeves and Allen Shatley; a son, Tim Shatley; two sisters: Ruth Jones and Myrtle Pruitt; three half-sisters: Laura Lucas, Nora Harrald and Annie Church; a brother, Guy Reeves; two half-brothers: Gwyn and Tom Reeves; three step-children: Irene Williams, Herman and Gwyn Reeves.

Inez was saved November 20, 1980 in a storefront building off English Road in High Point, NC and has been a faithful Christian for Christ. She was so lonely with all her family that went on before her but she leaned on God and her kids. To all she would say, hold on to God and meet her one day when God calls you.

She leaves behind two sons: Richard Shatley (Tonia) of Sparta, Derrick Shatley of Wilkesboro; a step-son, Jimmy Shatley of N. Wilkesboro; six grandchildren: Lance, Kenzie, Dominyck, Natashia, Araya, Seth Shatley; special nieces: Lucy Pollard, Betty Gwynn; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Inez will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Ed Hall and Reverend Charlie Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at South Fork Cemetery in Piney Creek. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
