Ilene Church

Ilene Church, age 95 of Ennice, NC; passed away Sunday, April 12th, 2026 at The Landings of Chestnut Grove in Sparta, NC.

Ilene was born July 27, 1930 in Alleghany County to the late John and Ida Dickens Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death three sisters: Cecil Church, Ruth Walker, and Gladys Parks.

Ilene was survived by two nieces, Sheila Carico of Galax, VA, Sandra Walker of Ennice; two great nephews: Josh Carico of Ennice, T.J. Carico (Caitlin) of Granite Falls; great-great nephews: Rylan Wyatt and Greyson Carico; a special friend, Anna Reed.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Ilene will be held at 1:00 pm Friday April 17th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Edmonds Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edmonds Community Cemetery c/o Eli Carico, 202 Golf View Lane, Ennice, NC 28623.

The family respectfully request no food or visitors.
