Hunter Lewis McIntyre, age 27 of Winter Springs, FL; passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family and friends who loved him most.
Hunter was born February 26th, 1998 in Columbia, SC to Jim McIntyre and Tonya Hockenberry McIntyre. At a young age, Hunter was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne. This never stopped him from doing the things he cared for most. He was a 2016 graduate of Alleghany High School. Hunter was an avid lover of animals no matter what kind and his favorite phrase was, “can I pet that dog.” He loved WWE and all other types of wrestling.
Survivors include his father, Jim McIntyre and wife Denise of the home; his mother, Tonya McIntyre and fiancé Tracy Brown of Virginia; a brother, James McIntyre Jr. and wife Megan of Ennice, NC; four sisters: Savannah Frey and husband Brad of Lyman, SC, Reba Clark of Englewood, FL, Crystal Williams and husband Isreal of Mt. Airy, Courtney Marlow of Sparta, NC; maternal grandparents, Annie and Thomas Sebastian of Wilkesboro; an aunt, Debbie Hall of Ocala, FL; two uncles: David Prescott of Winter Springs, FL, John Prescott; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Susan Miles, the late D.W. Miles, and to Thomas Family Funeral Service.
A Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Hunter will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Ed Hall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
