Helen (Jones) Crouse

Helen Jones Crouse, age 93, of Sparta; passed away Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 at her residence.

Helen was born December 3rd, 1929 in Grayson County, VA to the late Grover and Lula Caldwell Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Crouse; three sisters: Nell Goad, Callie Dillon and Lela Jones; a niece, Rebecca Ellen "Becky" Phipps. She retired from Hanes Sara Lee after 45 years of service and she enjoyed the Red Hats Ladies Club and Line Dancing at the Alleghany Jubilee.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Virginia Van Hampton; three nieces: Norma Jean Phipps, Sarah P. Douglas and husband Todd, Mary Jane Parsons and husband Eddie; a nephew, James Van "Jimmy" Phipps; special friends: Jan Delp, Mikki Delp, Jackie Maines and Agnes Joines; caregivers: Mary Lambert, Kim Walker, Becky Hash, Debbie Dooley, Betty Watkins, and Joyce Kilby, many additional friends also survive.

A graveside service to honor the life of Helen will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 7th, 2023 at the Crouse Family Cemetery on the family farm at 2065 Nile Road, Sparta with Brother Ed Hall officiating.

No formal visitation will be held.
