Franklin Dewayne Phipps, age 60 of Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, April 23rd, 2026 at his residence.
Frank was born December 24th, 1965 in Wayne County, MI to the late Arnold Franklin and Patsy Ann Mann Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: June Phipps and Cindy Alphin.
Frank served his country in the United State Army. He loved his family very much. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping other. He attended Living by Faith Baptist Church and was saved and September of 2024.
Survivors include his fiance, Joy Maines of the home; two sons: Randall Phipps of Crumpler, NC and Anthony Phipps of Jefferson, NC; a step-daughter, Alyssia Maines of Independence, VA; a step-son, Hayden Maines of Glade Valley, NC; five brothers: Glen Phipps (Leann) of Sparta, NC, Jimmy Phipps (Mary) of Yadkinville, NC, Brian Phipps of Boone, NC, Frankie Phipps and Johnny Phipps both of Michigan; two sisters: Bessie Sanders of Sparta, NC, Missy Richards (Dustin) of Taylorsville, NC; six grandchildren: Michael, Lilly, Randall, Mackenzie, Tayte and Steven; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at Living by Faith Baptist Church in Independence, VA with Pastor Derek Cowan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Landmark Union Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
