Eric Denton Spears

Eric Denton Spears, age 13, of 124 Memorial Park Dr., Sparta; passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 18th, 2020.

Eric was a vibrant young man who enjoyed hiking, kayaking, fishing, his rock collection and hanging out with his dog, "Lucky". He was born March 20th, 2007 in Galax, VA to Rodney Allen Spears and Sarah Puckett. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Great-Grandmother, Ollie Mae Johnson; his Maternal Great-Grandparents, Robert and Mary Browning; Maternal Great-Grandfather, Wyatt Puckett.

In addition to his parents, Rodney Spears of Sparta and Sarah Puckett of Kentucky, he is survived by a sister, Sydni Johnson of Claremont, NC; Paternal Grandparents, Arvie and Lynn Perry of Sparta; Maternal Grandparents: Eric and Tracy Puckett of Low Gap, Robbi Browning of Cynthiana, KY; Paternal Great-Grandparents: Guy and Margaret Johnson of Mulberry, NC., Jerry and Ethel Francis of Copperas Cove, TX; Aunts and Uncles: Derek Spears, Cody Woody, Joshua and Chelsey Parsons, Jacob and Ashton Perry, Wyatt Puckett, Ryan and Kimmie Puckett, and Megan Puckett; a niece, Kensley Baker; several Cousins, Great Aunts and Uncles also survive.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 at Thomas Family Funeral Service, 115 Hawthorne Street Sparta, NC and other times at the residence of Arvie and Lynn Perry, 360 Rifle Range Road, Sparta, NC 28675.

No services to the public will be held.

In keeping with Covid 19 rules and regulations, everyone attending visitation for Eric will be required to wear mask.
