Ercell Vesta (Wooten) Wagoner

Ercell Vesta Wooten Miller Wagoner, age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at Chatham Nursing in Elkin, NC.

Ercell was born September 10th, 1930 in Alleghany County to the late Sam and Mary Ann Royal Wooten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands: Homer Miller and Hubert Wagoner; four brothers: Vaughn, John, Clay and Paul Wooten; four sisters: Betty Lou Spicer, Marie Spicer, Ruth Maines, and Nell Hudson.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Johnson of Boonville; two grandchildren: Michael Dillow of Dobson, Michelle Wright (Cody) of Max Meadows, VA; four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Braxton, Zander, and Nevaeh; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Ercell will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 6th, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Charlie Bennett and Reverend Max Combs officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehead Joines Cemetery in Sparta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
