Elva Ruth Pharr

Elva Ruth Pharr, age 101, formerly of Sparta; passed away Sunday, July 27th, 2025 at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation in Independence, VA.

Elva Ruth was born May 4th, 1924 in Iredell County to the late David Allen Pharr and Mary Harley Sharpe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Arnold Pharr; her siblings: Donald Albert Pharr, Robert Forest Pharr, Mary Arvil Pharr Edwards, Chlo Dean Pharr Turner, Carlie Pharr, Rudy Pharr, Kermit Pharr, Ina Ree Pharr Horne, and Ruby Pharr Grant.

Survivors include her niece, Carolyn Turner of Lansing; a daughter-in-law, Karen Pharr; a special friend, Ralph Pratt of Ennice; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Elva Ruth will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 1st, 2025 at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.
