Elizabeth Lucchesi Perot

Elizabeth L. Perot, Mrs. Richard L. Carter, 89, of Sparta, recently a resident at Willow Ridge Care facility in Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Saturday, August 17 after a brief illness.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Dr. Phanor L. Perot, Jr. and two children, Phanor Leonidas (Lee) Perot III, and Vanessa Perot Gilbert and sister Linda L. Cody. She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Carter a 28-year USAF veteran, children; Deirdre Perot, Pascal (Kathy) Perot, and Christopher Perot, son-in-law Paul Gilbert and stepson Marc (Leann) Carter, five grandchildren as well as three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Ursula Edelblut of Bowdoin, ME and Patricia Foster of Baltimore, MD.

Elizabeth and Richard were long-time residents of Sparta, NC. They were very active in their church, St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church where she often gave readings and provided flowers for services and special functions. Elizabeth, an ardent grower, was a fixture at the Farmers Market in Sparta, famous for her hydroponic lettuce, V-7 tomato juice and blueberries. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church with Father Jacob officiating. A private inurnment will be held immediately following the Mass in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following services in the Fellowship Hall.
