Eddie Ray Hall, age 73, of Laurel Springs Community, 12668 Hwy 18 South, Laurel Springs, NC 28644 passed away February 4, 2026 in his home. Eddie was born January 29, 1953 in West Jefferson, NC to Robert Bruce Hall and Shirley Long Hall.
Eddie and Pam were the Owners of Doughton - Hall Bed and Breakfast for 34 years after renovating the National Historical Homeplace of Robert B. Doughton for a full year. Through the years of entertaining guests and providing services for many weddings and other social events, they gained many friends that have become family and returned multiple times a year and enjoyed being around local friends and neighbors. Some even became property owners in Alleghany and surrounding areas because they enjoyed it so much. Ed enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends, never meeting a stranger. No matter if he was on a cruise, plane or across the country, he always managed to find someone who had a mutual friend in common or lived close to Laurel Springs! Eddie was also a Charter Member of the Laurel Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
Ed was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Hall; his Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law, Dorothy and Carlton Wagoner who loved him as their son.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Wagoner Hall ( 46 years) of the home; one son: Joshua L. Hall and wife Wendy of Raleigh, NC and a granddaughter, Lillian Brooke Hall. His Mother, Shirley L. Hall of Laurel Springs; three brothers: Terry Hall and wife Susan of Ennice, NC, Mickey Hall and wife Mindy of Sparta, NC, Tracey Hall and wife Amy of Laurel Springs, NC; Jermey Marlow thought of as his 2nd son, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends also survive.
