Eddie Gene Edwards, age 66, of 1346 Big Oak Road, Ennice, NC; passed away Thursday, April 13th, 2023 at his residence.
Eddie was born July 11th, 1956 in Alleghany County to the late Eugene and Shirley Hawks Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alice Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife, Joye Edwards of the home; three children: Tina Vaughn and husband Mike of Galax, Andy Edwards of Galax, Taylor Edwards and husband Sam Crider of Portland, OR; five grandchildren: Chloe Vaughn, Charlotte Vaughn, Hedy Vaughn, Vince Edwards, and Oliver Edwards; a grandkitty, Yukon; a brother, Billy Edwards and wife Roxanne of Ennice; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Eddie will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alice Vaughn Memorial Scholarship, 984 Shepherds Place, Galax, VA 24333.
