Dorothy Lee (Murray) Crouse

Dorothy "Dot" Murray Crouse, age 75 of 35 B and M Lane, Glade Valley, NC; passed away Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC.

Dot was born August 24th, 1948 in Alleghany County, NC to the late Howard and Blanche Holbrook Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Crouse; a grandson, Brandon Wagoner; a step-son, Adam Crouse; a brother, Danny Murray; five brothers-in-law: Ronnie Crouse, Kevin Crouse, Leroy Brown, Pat Crouse, Donald Crouse; two sisters-in-law: Ina Grace Royal, Martha Crouse.

Survivors include three daughters: Deanna Michelle Wagoner and fiance Jeff Reeves of Sparta, LaRhonda Crouse of Glade Valley, Rebecca Crouse of Glade Valley; two step-daughters: Lisa Sutton and husband Mike of N.E., MD, Malinda Crouse of Edgewood, MD; two step-sons: Allen Crouse and wife Tammy of Aberdeen, MD, James Crouse of Washington, DC; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Shelton and husband Wayne of Sparta, Lois Tate of Sparta; a brother, Dennis Murray and wife Cathy of Glade Valley; brothers and sisters-in-law; Judy Crouse of Glade Valley, Dennis Crouse and wife Marlene of Glade Valley, Lennie Crouse and wife Debbie of Ennice, Melody Crouse of Sparta, Pauline Williams and husband Roger of Glade Valley, Mary Alice Brown of Glade Valley, Sandra Kyall and husband Richard of GA, Ann Brown of Pilot Mountain; a son-in-law, Craig Wagoner of Sparta; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Dot will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Ed Hall and Pastor Marty Wood officiating. Internment will follow at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thomas Family Funeral Service, PO Box 114, Sparta, NC 28675 to assist the family with funeral expenses.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tommy Billings for always being a part of Dot's life, to Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, and to the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for their care of Dot.
