Doris Marie (Sturgill) Triplett

Doris Marie Sturgill Triplett, age 89, of 7 Mary's Lane, Sparta, NC; passed away Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at her residence.

Doris was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Piney Creek. She was born December 17th, 1933 in Alleghany County to the late David Rex Sturgill and Hazel Irene Caldwell Weaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Grover Triplett; two sons: Jarvis and Ken Triplett.

Survivors include two daughters: Joyce Flippen and husband Jerry of Sparta, Theresa Willey and husband James of Sparta; six grandchildren: Tray Sanders and wife Becky, Hope White and husband Josh, David Triplett and wife Joni, Scotty Triplett and wife Regina, Matt Triplett, and Cody Triplett all of Sparta; eight great-grandchildren: Mastin Sanders, Leah Sanders, Hailey Lynn Triplett, Peyton Triplett, Tinley Triplett, Kendra Hunt, Katie White, Weston Triplett; a great-great granddaughter, Skylar Sanders; a daughter-in-law, Ann Triplett of Sparta; a brother, Don Sturgill and wife Shirley of Sparta; a sister-in-law, Maxine LaRue of Piney Creek; a brother-in-law, Everett Evans of Laurel Springs; a nephew, Greg Sturgill of Hillsboro, OH; extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Doris will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Eric Miller and Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
