Deanna (Taylor) Dixon

Deanna Taylor Dixon, age 75, of 1644 Moravian Falls Road, Wilkesboro, NC and formerly of Sparta; passed away Wednesday, September 28th, 2022 at her residence.

Deanna was born September 2nd, 1947 in Alleghany County to the late Dean and Jean Faircloth Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Taylor; a great-grandson, William James Shrader. She was a member of Osborne Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She loved being a homemaker, gardening, sewing and crocheting. She worked for many years with TRW Laboratories of Falls Church, Virginia in Cancer Research.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Mitchell Gene Dixon of the home; two daughters: Linea Dixon of the home, Shannon Shrader and husband James of Moravian Falls; two granddaughters: Brittany Shrader and William Wilson of Moravian Falls, Lacey Shrader and Jacob Billings of Moravian Falls; four great-grandchildren: Chance, Willow, Sidney and Virginia Wilson all of Moravian Falls; a sister, Glenda Lewis and husband Mark of Ashe County; one nephew also survives.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Deanna will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 1st, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverends Jeff Reeves and Danny Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Cranberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
