Darlene Belle Bottoms

Darlene Belle Bottoms, age 69, of Sparta; passed away Monday, June 28th, 2021 at Genesis Alleghany Center in Sparta.

Darlene was born January 23rd, 1952 in Forsyth County to the late Hubert Lee and Ottie Irene Pruitt Bottoms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a special aunt, Louise Pruitt Loggins. Darlene was a High School Graduate, very active in the Special Olympics and lived and worked at ADAP for many years.

Survivors include her cousin, Tony Adams and wife Judy of Sparta; two aunts: Bobbie Tucker of Pinnacle, NC., and Faye Pruitt of Laurel Springs, NC; Special Friends: April Wall, Tammy Wolfenbarger Davis, Cheryl Harris, Betty Roupe and Leann; her special family at Sam C. Evans, Jr. Group Home and ADAPT; Several additional cousins, family members and friends also survive.

A graveside service to honor the life of Darlene will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 at Laurel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Charlie Bennett officiating. No formal visitation will be held.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Genesis Alleghany Center for the wonderful care they gave Darlene during her time there and to Medi Home Hospice of Alleghany.
