Darin Mack Church, age 51, of 4925 Shawtown Road, Ennice; passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 in Ennice, NC.
Darin was a partner in the family business of Church's Concrete and a partner with his son in D & B Grading. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing golf, fishing, kayaking, back packing, running, hiking, rock climbing, cooking, riding the golf cart with his canine companion, Toby and spending time with his family. There is much to be said about Darin and his life of just 51 short years but the one thing that Darin was very passionate about was helping others in need and never expecting anything in return.
Darin was born January 27th, 1972 in Galax, VA to David Arnold Church, Sr. and Mary Lou Brooks. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Melvin Coe.
Surviviors include his wife of 30 years, Waynette Wright Church of the home; two children: Bailey Church and fiance James Mason of Sparta, Bryson Church and companion, Abby Hawks of Sparta; his father, David Arnold Church, Sr. and wife Ora of Glade Valley; his mother, Mary Brooks of Glade Valley; a brother, David Arnold Church, Jr. and wife Missy of Glade Valley; a half-brother, Jesse Bates of Glade Valley; his canine companion, Toby; father-in-law, Wayne Wright of Ennice; mother-in-law, Linda Huff of Sparta; sister-in-law, Sharon Coe of Sparta; brother-in-law, Darren Cranford and fiancee Deana Sturgill of Sparta; two step-sisters: Emily Parks, Natasha Bourne and husband Jesse; a niece, Makayla Cranford and fiance Stevie Muncus of Sparta; a nephew, Jacob Cranford and fiancee Brooke Tracey of Sparta; two great-nieces: Adalynn Bryant and Ellie Muncus of Sparta; two step-nieces: Abbe Moxley and husband Chris, Zoey Bourne; the employees of Church's Concrete and many special friends also survive.
Funeral services to honor the life of Darin will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Mark Wagg officiating. Interment will follow at Saddle Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
