Crystal (Nelson) Turner

Crystal Nelson Turner, age 46, of Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Crystal was born January 10th, 1979 in Sparta, NC to the late Clinton Nelson and Linda Hodge Nelson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Brinegar. Crystal enjoyed gardening, camping, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Scottie Turner of the home; two daughters: Stephanie White of Asheville, NC, Katie Turner of Sparta, NC; a son, Austin Turner and wife Lisa of Mt. Airy, NC; four grandchildren: Cadence White and Sailyr White of Asheville, NC, A. J. Turner and Eric Turner of Mt. Airy, NC; two brothers: Tom Nelson and wife Amy of Mt. Airy, NC, Daniel Nelson and wife Becky of Sparta; a sister, Melissa Moxley and husband Steve of Sparta, NC; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Crystal will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Doug Combs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
