Colonel Reed Brown

Colonel Reed Brown, age 81, of 285 Caudill Bend Road, Piney Creek; passed away Thursday, November 28th, 2019 at his residence.

Colonel was born September 6th, 1938 in Alleghany County, NC to the late Claude Wiley and Bessie Privett Brown. He loved nature, making walking canes and collecting large hornet nest.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Reeves Brown of the home; a sister, Leota Jones of Sparta; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ricky and Kathy Miller of Sparta; two nieces: Betty Eller and husband Richard of Sparta, Nancy Miller and husband Greg of Kansas City, Missouri.

Funeral services to honor the life of Colonel will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Elk Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Miller and Reverend Billy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Elk Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the residence.
