Charlotte Lorraine Diehl Alford, age 55 of Hampstead, NC; passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 23rd, 2026.
Charlotte was born August 16th, 1970 in Baltimore, MD to the late Charles "Charlie" Gilbert Diehl and Marcella Ann Hodge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved "Granny Hodge", Virginia Lorraine Billings Hodge.
Survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, Fang Alford of the home; a daughter, Ashton Alford Perry and husband Jake of Castle Hayne, NC; two sons: Trenton Diehl, Keegan Alford and wife Malena all of Wilmington, NC; a grandson, Karson Alford of Wilmington, NC; two sisters: Jessica Windham and husband Walt of North Augusta, SC., Frannie Taylor and husband Clay of Yadkinville, NC; a brother, Bobby Diehl and wife Ketura of East Bend, NC; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Charlotte was a devoted wife and mother to her children, grandchild and fur babies. She enjoyed spending long days on the beach with her family, feeding her shopping addiction by spoiling her grandchild, reading novels, enjoying a refreshing diet Dr. Pepper with her Junior Mints, and of course winning the family game of Phase 10. Charlotte's sweet tooth was always made known as she got the corner slice of cake with the most icing at every celebration. Her life's mantra will live on through her family to "always celebrate the little things".
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charlotte will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 29th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with a meal following at the Savannah Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. No formal visitation will be held.
The family would like to thank the Oncology Teams at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC and Novant Health Cancer Institute in Wilmington, NC.
