Charles Wilson "Junior" Perry, age 65, of 119 Paradise Lane, Glade Valley, NC; passed away Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin.
Junior was born July 3rd, 1956 in Pulaski, Va., to the late Ambrose and Nannie Clyde Bumgarner Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a two sisters: Linda Sexton and Brenda Whitaker; a brother, Jimmy Bumgarner; two half-brothers: Tommy Alley and Jackie Alley; a half-sister, Bettie Jo Alley; a step-son, Jeffrey Butcher.
Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Perry of the home; a daughter, Melissa Fitzgerald and husband Chad of Independence, VA; two grandchildren: Tyler Rutherford of Pipers Gap, VA and Aiden Fitzgerald of Independence, VA; three sisters: Carol Parsons and husband Paul of Canton, OH, Glenda Dillow and husband Darrell of Yadkinville, Bonnie Carter of Glade Valley; a brother, Robbie Bumgarner of Sparta; his canine companion, Little Bit; two half-sisters: Sue Harmon of Maryland and Shirley of Ohio; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Junior will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 13th, 2021 at New Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Graylen Blevins and Brother Ed Hall officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the residence.
