Carolyn Ilene Williams Osborne, 65, of Sparta, NC, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved the Lord, her family, and friends. Although Carolyn, "Sissy", is gone, she will live forever in our hearts.
Carolyn was born in Maryland on July 7th, 1959, to Carl and Louise Williams. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert "RO" Osborne; her daughter, Wendy Baker and husband, Alex, of Mountain Park, NC; two granddaughters, Addalynn and Elizabeth Baker. She is preceded in death by her mother Louise and father Carl Williams, sister, Treva Taylor. She is survived by three sisters, Shirley Edwards and husband Stan of Sparta, NC; Barbara Smith and husband Craig of King, NC and Regina Welch and husband Jeff of Crossville, TN; several Osborne brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
Carolyn graduated Alleghany High School and Appalachian State University with honors. She taught elementary school for a number of years, and later in life, she worked for the Alleghany County Library, where she loved creating lesson plans and reading programs for the children. Carolyn especially enjoyed spending time with her family and granddaughters that always brought her so much joy and love. From an early age, Carolyn's greatest passion was riding horses. When she could no longer ride, she missed it a lot.
Funeral services to honor the life of Carolyn will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Jeremy Brinegar officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
