Carlile Halsey

Edwin Carlile Halsey, age 84 of Sparta, NC; passed away Sunday, July 5th, 2026 at his residence.

Carlile was born March 10th, 1942 in Marion, VA to the late Garnett Edison Halsey and Ethel Bumgarner Halsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Moxley Halsey; three sons: Carlile, Jr., Lonnie, and Carlos Halsey; a sister, Betty Jo Hines; two brothers: Toby and June Halsey; two half brothers: Gelene and J.B. Halsey.

Survivors include three children: Sissy Williams of Sparta, Ronnie Halsey (Dawn) of Glade Valley, Danny Halsey (Crystal) of Sparta; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren of the home: Skylee and Keyleigh Arias; several additional great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

A private graveside service will be held at Piney Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks the staff of Medi Home Health and Hospice of Alleghany for their care of Carlile and to Brother Ed Hall for his friendship.
