Carl Franklin Bennett, better known as "Tad", set sail for his heavenly home surrounded by loved ones on September 20, 2024.
Tad was born on August 19,1960 in Sparta NC to the late Lucille Brewer Bennett Phipps and Dalton F Bennett. Tad was also preceded in death by his wife Deborah Huff Bennett, maternal grandparents Carl and Georgie Holdaway Brewer and paternal grandparents Lou Nichols Bennett and Hurst Bennett.
Tad is survived by his sons, Jacob Bennett, Zachery Bennett and wife Courtney, stepdaughter Brandi Evans Allen, grandchildren, Griffin Bennett, Gracen Bennett, Sydney Allen and special granddaughter MaKenzy Mabe, all of Sparta NC, sister Tammy Starnes and husband Michael of Hickory NC, companion Norine Wright of Sparta NC , aunts, Carol Bennett and Wanda Bennett of High Point NC and Linda Smith of Ennice NC, Uncles Garfield Brewer and wife Debbie of Galax VA, McKee Brewer and wife Shirley of Independence VA, Bobby Davis of Galax VA and James Templeton of Sparta NC, a host of cousins, friends and his faithful dog Charlie also survive.
Tad never met a stranger and to know him was to love him. Tad loved fishing, canoeing the New River, hunting arrowheads and rocks. He will be sorely missed.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, September 24 at 2pm at Thomas Family Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Matthew S. Farabow of Seaside United Methodist Church, Sunset Beach NC. Interment will follow at Nichols Family Cemetery in Sparta. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff of Medi - Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of Tad.
