Bucky Oneil Melton, Jr., 33 of Marion, VA passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Roanoke Carilion Hospital. He was born in Galax, VA on October 21, 1988. He is preceded in death by his mother, Penny Sayers Melton.

He is survived by his father, Bucky Melton, Sr. and wife, Georgia of Sparta, NC; his son, Zelan Melton of Sparta, NC; daughter, Maddy Melton of Sparta, NC; companion, Zara Blizzard of Marion, VA; sisters, Kristie McFarland and husband, Matt of Galax, VA., and Misty Phifer and husband Rick of Galax, VA.; step sisters, Dawn Dotson and husband, Wayne of Jonesville, NC and Megan Hicks and husband, Robert of Sparta, NC; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at Bible Baptist Church beginning at 2pm. Pastor Barry Newman will officiate. Burial will follow in Bishops Chapel Cemetery in Galax, VA. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 7, 2022 at High Country Services from 6pm until 8pm.
