Bruce Wyatt

Mr. Henry Bruce Wyatt, of Sparta, passed away, surrounded by family, on March 18th, at Alleghany Health. Bruce was born March 17th, 1937, in Ashe County in the Peak Creek Community, to the late Fannie Wyatt.

Bruce retired from Sparta Industries, formerly Dr. Grabow, after 40 years of dedicated service. Bruce lived a very active life and was a true Appalachian man, known for his expert knowledge in gardening, bird watching, and hunting.

Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Ina Jean Church Wyatt; his mother, Fannie Wyatt; and daughter in law, Tammy Wyatt.

Surviving are his four children: Debbie Wyatt Osborne and husband, Philip of Piney Creek, NC; Danny Wyatt and fiancé, Pam Andrews of Sparta, NC; David Wyatt and wife, Diane of Independence, VA; daughter, Wanda Kay Blevins of Wilkes Co., NC. One sister, Louise Thompson of West Jefferson, NC; One brother, Doug Wyatt of Wilkesboro, NC; six grandchildren: Jessica Brinegar and husband, Jeremy of Sparta, NC; Adam Osborne of Gastonia, NC; Chance Wyatt and husband, Mark of Flag Pond, TN; Olivia Crockett and husband, Brian of Cripple Creek, VA; Emma Boyles and husband, Seth of Wilmington, NC; Garret Wyatt of Camp Lejeune, NC; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

Graveside services to honor the life of Bruce will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at Peak Creek Community Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Lovelace officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.
