Brady Seth Proffit

Brady Seth Proffit, age 68, of Sparta, NC; passed away Sunday, February 25th, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Brady was born September 10th, 1955 in Caldwell County, NC to the late James Paul and Irntraud Dischert Proffit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle who raised him, Reece and Nettie Miller; a father-in-law, James Poole; a brother-in-law, Greg Wagoner. Brady worked for NAPCO, Inc. from it's beginning until he retired in 2022. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Brady loved fishing but especially loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mitzi Poole Proffit of the home; two children: Misty McKnight and husband Tommy of Sparta, Seth Proffit and wife Brandi of Sparta; five grandchildren: Emma McKnight, Brock McKnight, Sidney Proffit, Payton Proffit, Aubree Proffit; one step-grandson, Austin Maines; one sister, Rita P. Wagoner of Sparta; two brothers: Rocky Proffit and wife Tammy of Mooresville, Rick Proffit and wife Dianne of Laurel Springs; a mother-in-law, Betty Sue Poole of Sparta; a sister-in-law, Judy Adams and husband Tony of Sparta; special nephews and nieces; a special cousin, John H. Miller of Sparta; special friends: Andrew Royal, Catfish Todd and Terry Hall; a special aunt, Rita Luis Dischert of Germany.

Memorial Services to honor the life of Brady will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Matt Harris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Intensive Care nurses and staff at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
