Bobbie Jean (Maines) Crouse

Bobbie Jean Maines Crouse, age 96 of Sparta; passed away Friday, July 3rd, 2026 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital.

Bobbie was born July 2nd, 1930 in Alleghany County, NC to the late Robert and Zona Sexton Maines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Crouse; a son, Gary Crouse; a sister, Ennice Monk; two infant brothers.

Bobbie was a lifelong Farmer and also worked with Belk Department Store and Dr. Grabow Pipes. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening of all types, reading and working puzzles.

Survivors include her son, Ricky Lee Crouse of Sparta; two granddaughters: Thalassa Wilmoth (Adam) of Thurmond, Brenda Edwards (Heath) of Sparta; four great grandchildren: Calvin and Madison Wilmoth of Thurmond, Jason and Colt Edwards of Sparta; many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Bobbie will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverends Homer Murdock and Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Crouse Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
