Blanche (Osborne) Pugh

Blanche Marie Osborne Pugh, age 93, of 1768 Topia Road, Piney Creek, NC; passed away Sunday, March 12th, 2023 at her residence.

Blanche, along with her late husband Dent, owned and operated Pugh Grocery in Piney Creek for forty years. She was a member of Osborne Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

Blanche was born April 28th, 1929 in Alleghany County to the late Jesse and Margie Johnson Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denton "Dent" Bowie Pugh; a son, Gary Pugh; a grandson, Jason Richardson; a son-in-law, Robert "Bob" Richardson; four sisters: Dorothy Young, Nora Sexton, Alda Caudill and Rose Osborne; three brothers: Jessie Mack Osborne, Glenn Osborne and Guy Osborne.

Survivors include three children: Barbara P. Richardson of Sparta, Diane Shepherd and husband Keith of Lexington, Roger Pugh of Piney Creek; six grandchildren: Karen Sealey and husband Charlie of State Road, Julie Hester and husband Tommy of Sparta, Dr. Scott Pugh and wife Dr. Caitlin Pugh of Lexington, Dr. Mandy Carpenter and husband Jason of Mocksville, Tyler Shepherd and wife Elspeth of Wake Forest, Lauren Carmichael and husband Clay of Winston-Salem; six great-grandchildren: Luke Sealey, Brooke Moore, Katelyn Elmore, Eleanor Shepherd, Zac Pugh, and Wesley Carpenter; three great-great-grandchildren: Giovanni Moore, Genevieve Moore and Salvatore Moore; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Blanche will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 17th, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Tyler Shepherd, Pastor Homer Murdock and Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
