Betty Sue (Ross) Church

Betty Ross Church, age 73, of 1447 Collins Road, Sparta; passed away Friday, August 26th, 2022 at her residence.

Betty was born August 29th, 1948 in Ashe County to the late Harley and Blanche Reed Ross. She was the Owner/Operator of Betty's Dollar Mart in Sparta for many years.

Survivors include three children: Allen Church and wife Peggy of Piney Creek, Kenny Church and wife Shelly of W. Jefferson, Pam Adkins and husband Jason of Sparta; two sisters: Barbara Hart and husband Roger Dale of Sparta, Bernice Darnell of Winston-Salem; one aunt, Mary Ruth Reed of Sparta; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Betty will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Elder Alan Church officiating. Interment will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Laurel Springs. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
