Barbara Caudle Obituary
Barbara Ann Caudle “Mawmaw”, 77, of Sparta, NC went home to be with our Savior on Dec. 30th, 2020 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Alleghany County, born July 18th, 1943 to John and Virginia Tolliver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 20 years, Richard Smithers. She is survived by her brother John Tolliver of Ennice; her children: John Franklin Caudle and his wife Kim of Poplar Camp, Virginia, Rick Caudle and his wife Kim of Wytheville, Virginia, Michelle Caudle of Sparta, NC. Also survived by Teresa and Travis Caudill of Galax, VA; grandsons: Ricky and Eli Caudle; Granddaughters: Jessica and Courtnie Caudle, Amber Coffey and Natashia Hines as well as several beloved great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Barbara "Mawmaw" more affectionate known to friends and family was always known for her tenacity and sense of humor. She had an unmatched love for her friends, family and most of all her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her church family and attended faithfully when she could. She also was a faithful animal lover with many treasured dog companions over the years. To know Barbara was to love her and to appreciate her loyalty to those she held dearest.
A special thank you to the staff at Chatham Nursing and Rehab for the love and care they gave to Mawmaw.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be given in the form of a meal or gift card to local healthcare workers.
Private Funeral Services to honor the life of Barbara will be held at an unannounced time in the Chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service, 115 Hawthorne Street, Sparta. Interment will follow at Pleasant Home Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will not have receiving hours at the funeral home or at their respective residences.
A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
