Ann (Burcham) Johnson

Patricia Ann Burcham Johnson, age 77 of 1322 Mahogany Rock Road, Sparta, NC; passed away Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at her residence.

Ann was born April 28th, 1945 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Claude and Mabel Call Burcham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dean Johnson; two sons: Christopher and Carlie Johnson; a daughter, Denise Johnson; a granddaughter, Miranda Wiles; a brother, James Burcham.

Ann enjoyed flower gardening, gin rummy, fishing, golf and word search puzzles. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and companion.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Hatcher of Wilkesboro; a son, Rocky Johnson and wife Barbara of Sparta; six grandchildren: Christopher Johnson of Sparta, Matthew Johnson and fiancee Holly Whitt of Sparta, Trey Shumate of Wilkes, Kelly Bowlin and husband Jeremy of Wilkes, April Blevins and husband Chris of Wilkes, Tonya Patrick of Wilkes; several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; also survived by her loving friend and companion, Grady Hamm of Sparta.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Ann will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 12th, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church, 3809 Old 60, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 with Reverends Ronnie Gregory and Mark Carico officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm Saturday, March 11th, 2023 at Thomas Family Funeral Service in Sparta and other times at the residence.
