Alvin Bernard Brown

Alvin Bernard Brown, age 66 of Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, July 31st, 2025.

Alvin was born May 5th, 1959 in Alleghany County to the late Walter and Vivian Bryan Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Regina Parham, Joyce Brown, Annette Harris, Bernice Jacobs; two brothers: Herbert Brown, Steve Brown. He was a member of Macedonia Union Baptist Church. Alvin loved the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, church, riding four wheelers, and playing the drums.

Survivors include his daughter, Briona Brown of Sparta, NC; a grandson, Rome Miller of Sparta, NC; two brothers: Walter Brown, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Bristol, VA, Douglas Brown and wife Vera of Glade Valley, NC; a sister, Venia Price and husband Goldie of New Carlton, MD; a special friend, David Evans; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Alvin will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Macedonia Union Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
