Allen Johnson

David Allen Johnson, age 65, of Sparta; passed away Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Allen was born July 13th, 1955 in Galax, VA to the late Albert and Ilene Christley Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry and Wayne Johnson.

Allen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Minnie Lou Johnson of the home; two sons: Matthew Johnson of Sparta, Mark Caudill and Shannon Marlowe of Cullowhee, NC; a daughter, Mandy Johnson and Kyle Dean Smith of Independence, VA; two grandchildren; two brothers: Jimmy L. Johnson of Sparta, Donnie Johnson and wife Barbara of Fries, VA; a sister, Barbara Patton and husband Larry of Atkins; several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family also survive.

A private funeral service for family only to honor the life of Allen will be held in the Chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with the Reverend Larry Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

A walk through visitation will be held from 11:30 pm until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 at Thomas Family Funeral Service in Sparta. The family will not be present during this time.
