Numa Alease Caudill Moxley
July 31, 1937—June 7, 2025 (87 years)
Alease Moxley passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Grayson Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after a brief illness.
Alease will be remembered for her faithfulness to her family, her church, and her friends. She loved to send cards of encouragement and celebration to everyone she knew. She prepared and delivered cakes and meals to the sick and shut-in and enjoyed cooking for church and family get togethers. She had a commitment to helping others and bringing joy and support to those she met.
Alease was a member of Saddle Mountain Union Baptist Church for over 68 years. She and her husband, Bobby Moxley, served as deacon and deaconess until his passing in 1991. She taught a Sunday School class for over twenty years and served as treasurer and secretary until her health declined earlier this year. She attended church and Bible study where she met a host of new friends and went on church outings with her friends from the First Baptist Church.
Alease worked at Hanes Knitwear and later Sara Lee for over forty years until the plant closed. She enjoyed visiting her co-workers and attending their monthly retiree breakfasts.
Alease was preceded in death by her parents, Estel and Elzora Caudill, her husband, Bobby Moxley, one sister, Linda Brooks, and a great-granddaughter.
She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Edwards (Richard); three sisters, Louise Edwards, Shirley Cornett, Beverly Pruitt (Danny) all of Sparta; and one brother, Charles Caudill (Louise) of Jefferson, NC. She leaves behind two grandsons, Jack Edwards (Kimberly), Bobby Edwards (Morgan), and three great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Kimberlyn, and Hudson Edwards and her special friends and neighbors, Rick and Belva Johnson and David and Gage Minor. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law: Betty Lou Jones, Evelyn Johnson (Carl Dean), Wanda Jones, Louise Caudill (Charles) and Lojean Finney (Ronald).
