Mary Lee (Darnell) Higgins

Mrs. Mary Lee Darnell Higgins, age 79, of 1534 Little Pine Road, Ennice, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 20th, 1940 in Ashe County, NC to the late William Frank and Ruby Gordon Darnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Joe Higgins; a baby brother, John Charles Darnell; a special sister-in-law, Emma Lee Darnell.

Mary is survived by a son, Danny Higgins and wife Deedee and granddaughter, Davanna Higgins of the home; a daughter, Pam Mashburn and husband Bill of High Point; four additional grandchildren, Kendric Pulliam, Kenlyn Pulliam both of Wilkesboro, Kimberlee Mashburn and fiance' Joe McLaughlin of Charlotte, Joseph Mashburn and wife Kimberly of Madison; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Roten and husband Archie of Winston-Salem; four brothers: James Darnell and wife Shirley of Monroe, Bobby Darnell and wife Doris of Winston-Salem, Bill Darnell and Eddie Darnell both of Winston-Salem; special former sister-in-law, Bernice Darnell of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mary Lee will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Little Pine Church of the Brethren with Brother Ed Hall and Reverend Roy Houser officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at Little Pine Church of the Brethren.
