Marcia Ann (DeBord) Meeks

Marcia Ann DeBord Meeks, age 69, of 2178 Glade Valley Road, Sparta; passed away Sunday, December 29th, 2019 at her residence.

She was born November 2nd, 1950 in Alleghany County to the late Delton and Anna Belle Phipps DeBord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Meeks.

Marcia was a 2nd grade school teacher, retiring after 33 years in Forsyth, GA and was a member of First Baptist Church of Sparta.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles DeBord and wife Louise of Lake Mary, FL., Ronald DeBord and wife Edith of Ennice; a sister, Phyllis Fender and husband J.R. of Sparta; seven nieces and nephews: Tammy and Brian Killon of Ennice, Ron and Michelle DeBord of Ennice, Daryl and Lisa DeBord of Manassas, VA., Tim and Ronda Jones of Elkin, Rhonda and Jeff Wingler of Hays, Denise and Scott Carlson of Lake Murray, FL., Devin and Jill DeBord of Salisbury.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Marcia will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Sparta with the Reverend John Attaway officiating. Interment will follow at Cox's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the residence.
